We wanted to make the house available to travellers who love the Ardennes, turning it into an authentic and welcoming holiday cottage
This century-old house, situated right in the centre of the village of Sainlez, nestled in lush greenery and bordered by the Ardennes forests, is what we have named L’AUBAINE. It welcomes you with open arms. Designed for families, couples or friends seeking peace and quiet, our holiday home invites you to slow down and savour the simple joys of nature.

L’AUBAINE awaits you to create your own Ardennes getaway, whether for hikes, walks in the forest or along the Ravel cycle route, or simply for some quality time together… Here, the charm of this characterful house blends with modern comforts to offer you a rejuvenating stay.
A house with five lives.
This house has stood the test of time: built at the end of the 19th century, given to my great-grandmother as a wedding gift, extended in 1938, severely damaged in December 1944, rebuilt between 1946 and 1953, then renovated from 2023 onwards to welcome its new guests. Today, the fifth generation of our family owns it. This is where our logo comes from: a five-leaf clover, symbolising these five lives.
Sustainable and local choices
Throughout the renovation, we prioritised high-quality, eco-friendly materials: retaining the original roof structure, natural slate roofing, hemp insulation, central heating fuelled by pellets and wood… All carried out by local craftsmen renowned for their expertise. The exterior has retained its original charm and proportions, whilst the interior has been optimised for your comfort.
A place for everyone
We wanted accessibility to go hand in hand with a welcoming atmosphere: there are no steps from the car park to the entrance, a lift allows people with reduced mobility to access the upper floor, and the bathrooms and toilets are adapted for disabled use on both the ground floor and the upper floor. Even the playground is designed for everyone: wheelchair accessible, with mixed-use areas, ranging from a playhouse for young children to structures for teenagers.
L’AUBAINE is much more than just a holiday cottage: it is a home for family and friends, open to nature.

On the Ardenne Résidences website, you will see the name we have chosen for the cottage: VALOREMIA. With this name, we wish to affirm our values and the tranquillity that this house exudes.
